NMRC WITH FUNDING FROM THE U.S. Department of Treasury & NE DHHS COMMUNITY CARES RESPONSE & RECOVERY GRANT; OFFERED ASSISTANCE TO AMERICAN INDIANS WHO RESIDE IN THE NEBRASKA PANHANDLE AND WERE SEEKING ASSISTANCE FOR HARDSHIP CREATED BY THE CORONAVIRUS. UNFORTUNATLY THE FUNDING CYCLE ENDED ON THE 30TH OF DECEMBER 2020.

HOW WE HELPED IN 2020


NMRC provided assistance for Native American/American Indian families and individuals, who reside within the Nebraska Panhandle.
We were able to offer the following short term financial assistance  for needs created as a result of the current Coronavirus epidemic.

  • Housing Rent/mortgage/Utility Payment Assistance (Stats Coming!)

    • Housing and utility assistance was provided for families who could not pay their rent, mortgage or utility. Rent/utility was paid by NMRC directly to the rental properties owners, housing and utility authorities.

  • Meal Delivery for the Elderly, Sick or Disabled (Stats Coming!)

    • NMRC provided meal delivery services for residents who are elderly, have no form of transportation, or are sick or disabled. NMRC served the areas of Haysprings, Rushville, Chadron, Crawford, Scottsbluff/Gering and Alliance areas.   

  • Emergency Food Vouchers (Participating Grocery Locations) (Stats Coming!)

    • NMRC provided food vouchers from local groceries for families weekly for the first month and a held and then bi-weekly thereafter every month. . ​

  • Emergency Travel & Lodging Assistance for Health Care (Stats Coming!)

    • This program funded travel and lodging for Native American families/individuals who had to travel from the NE panhandle to the reservation or health referral locations to receive emergency health care.
