Native Connections - Suicide prevention
The Chunte Washake Strong Hearts-Native Connections Project in its fifth year, has served Native youth 13 to 24 in 4 Nebraska Panhandle Counties by building a collaborative network of public health, education, and treatment providers. NMRC has done this by initiating a team-based outreach, using Mentors to connect youth at risk and implementing culturally responsive and best practices in the form of training's, group support and outings/events in communities and in partnership with key institutions.

Community Support Network
Our Native Native Connections Program has Developed a Native-led evidence-based community support network in the Nebraska Panhandle for Native youth who experience risks of suicide, substance misuse, and mental health issues.

Best Practice Prevention Intervention
Our project has been successful in Developing and implementing training in the NW Panhandle on best practice prevention interventions for Native Youth experiencing mental health and substance-abuse related issues.

Suicide Prevention Trainings
Our project currently offers suicide prevention training open to the community at no cost. Click on the links for further information.
