NMRC is dedicated to providing support and resources to end the problem of inter-generational poverty in our communities. Our programming specifically addresses the critical resource gaps for residents of rural and jurisdictional service areas bordering tribal lands.

This project is funded by grant number #1H79SM084160 from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration SAMHSA , US Department of Health and Human Services HHS. The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of SAMHSA and US HHS.

The Nebraska Minority Resource Center (NMRC) Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success program will help prevent and reduce substance use among youth and young adults ages 12–24 in four Nebraska Panhandle counties: Box Butte, Cherry, Dawes, and Sheridan. This catchment area has a large percentage of our target population. We (NMRC) will serve young adults, ages 12–24, who are at high risk for early initiation of alcohol and illicit drug use. Because our preventive interventions will be community and school-based, youth, young adults, and families will benefit.
