Strategic Planning Framework
The Nebraska Minority Resource Center (NMRC) Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success program will help prevent and reduce substance use among youth and young adults ages 12–24 in four Nebraska Panhandle counties: Box Butte, Cherry, Dawes, and Sheridan. This catchment area has a large percentage of our target population. We (NMRC) will serve young adults, ages 12–24, who are at high risk for early initiation of alcohol and illicit drug use. Because our preventive interventions will be community and school-based, youth, young adults, and families will benefit.
NMRC will use the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to engage community partners to develop and implement a prevention plan. This plan will align the region’s prevention misuse needs with associated risk factors, prevention services and supports, and outcomes. We will use the SPF’s five-step process to enhance our capacity to coordinate with state and regional prevention efforts and build the region’s capacity to implement evidence-based prevention strategies. This will increase the region’s ability to address the needs of the youth and young adults at risk for substance abuse and their families.
